About Us

McDonald’s Greenhouse, Ltd. is owned and operated by James A. McDonald, a lifelong resident of Muskingum County, Ohio. He obtained a greenhouse and management production degree in 1994 from the Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI) located in Wooster, Ohio.

We are family owned and operated.  James and wife Susan were neighborhood kids – 4 houses apart, enjoying the same grade at Tri-Valley and being in many 4-H activities together.  Married in 2002, James and Susan are blessed to live on her family farm with three generations of family. Both sides of grandparents are within walking distance and have enriched their lives and the lives of their three young adult sons. 

Since 1995, we have grown from one greenhouse to several.  We started the fall farm fun and corn maze activities in 2006 when their oldest son was born.  Building by building came along with the Event Barn in 2014.  They are now in full swing with year round farm educational and fun programming such as Farm Tots and Farm Camp, that enriches this community. Guests become friends and friends to become family.  When you are part of your community, your community will be part of you!
